Important Update: Changes to Surgical Services at Helena Regional Medical Center
Dear Patients and Community Members,
We want to inform you of some changes to Helena Regional Medical Center’s service offerings. Surgical services will no longer be available September 4.
Maintaining underutilized surgical services is simply unsustainable in a community with a shrinking population—a roughly 7.5% population decline between 2020-2022. Additionally, the decision to suspend surgical services is due in part to poor reimbursement from Medicaid and other payors, contributing to the ongoing financial losses sustained by Helena Regional and other rural providers throughout the state.
We have always been proud to serve as a vital healthcare resource for our family, friends, and neighbors. We are currently focused on emergency and inpatient care, various outpatient specialties and supporting access to affiliate primary care providers for our community.
